Ni Hao!  My name is Mrs. Wass, but my students call me Guo Laoshi.  I was born and raised in Taiwan. I have been teaching in San Diego for more than 20 years.  As someone who believes in life-long learning, I encourage my students to be good communicators, problem solvers and have a growth mindset.  I love integrating different aspects of Chinese culture into my lessons, such as Chinese yoyo (chě líng), theater, music and dance!  I am always amazed by my students' creativity and ability to learn.   Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family including my adorable corgi!
