Riverview International Academy

East County San Diego's leading Mandarin and Spanish Immersion School. Riverview International Academy is a free Mandarin and Spanish dual-immersion magnet school located in East County, San Diego. Our students choose a focus language (Spanish or Mandarin) and receive supplemental instruction in the third language. Students attending our globally inspired campus select a Mandarin Immersion or Spanish Immersion track to continue from UTK/kindergarten through fifth grade. Through this immersive language experience, students have the opportunity to become not just bilingual but biliterate: reading, writing, speaking, and listening in their target language.

Our school consists of two campuses: Winter Gardens (UTK-1st) and Riverview (2nd-5th).

Get to know our programs

Mandarin Immersion

The Mandarin immersion program offers 50/50 Mandarin/English education from kindergarten through fifth grade. Our students spend portions of their day fully immersed in rigorous, fun Mandarin lessons where they learn to read, write, and communicate socially and academically in Mandarin.

Spanish Immersion

Our Spanish immersion program starts in Universal Transitional Kindergarten and continues through fifth grade. The education model begins with 90% Spanish immersion at the UTK-2 grade levels and gradually transitions to a 50/50 Spanish/English structure where students learn to be fully literate in both languages.

Education Enrichment

Riverview International Academy is proud to offer educational enrichment through trilingual education, STEAM labs, music lessons, and more! Each Classroom is equipped with the latest technology to support students' learning.
